Sunripe
packhouses
The main Sunripe Packhouse is located within the
specialized freight area of the Jomo Kenyatta International
Airport.There has been a significant investment in the cold
chain and the logical infrastructure.
The
prepared lines are processed year round in the high care
facility of the Sunripe's JKIA Packhouse.
The
Packhouse is certified to BRC higher level and also to process
organic fruits and vegetables.
Recent
Developments:
The
facility was expanded & upgraded again in June 2007
to accomodate:-
-
Higher throughput
- Greater flexibility for increased product permutations
and finally
- THe inclusion of prepared organic section to the high
care processing hall.
This
facility is supported by an increase in processing equipment,increase
coldroom space & blast chiller facilities.
A
dedicated packhouse was established in 2006 for the packing
of Avocadoes in Limuru
A newOrganic Packhouse at the Accacia Farm in Naivasha is
now Operational and all major farm units will start to have
small fully operational packhouses on site to pack and cool
produce within hours of being harvested.
Nyaribo packhouse at Nyeri farm is already operational.
