Our farms
Sunripe’s
crop production is located within a different range of Climatic
Zones and Altitudes in Kenya. A wide range of locations provides
close to optimum growing conditions to ensure reliability
of production, with good yields of high quality products.
Reduction of crop plant stress, by use of several locations,
generally ensures better flavour and phytonutrient development
in the harvested product.
Very
High Altitude Sites (2000-3000 mts.)
Specifically
for the Hot season production ofheat intolerant crops: Garden
Peas, PurpleSprouting Broccoli & Broad Beans. Very coolsites
with max daytime temps of 24-26degrees C.
High
Altitude Sites (1800-2000 mts.)
For hot season production of heat intolerant crops: Garden
Peas, Runner Beans, PurpleSprouting Broccoli, Baby Leek
and BabyLeaf Green & TenderstemFor Hot season production
of heat tolerantcrops: Green Beans & Baby Corn.For Wet
season production on certain sites where rainfall is lower.
Middle
Altitude Sites (1500-1800mts.) / Wet season sites.
For
cool season production of heatintolerant crops including
Runner Beans,Garden Peas, Baby Leeks, Carrots &Butternut.
For year round production of heattolerant crops (Fine Beans,
Baby Corn,Chillies & Tenderstem)
Lower rainfall in some locations for organic production
in the wet seasons.
